Team news: Lucy Quinn & Littlejohn start at Aviva
Eileen Gleeson has made two changes to her Republic of Ireland side for tonight’s Euro 2025 qualifier against England at the Aviva Stadium.
Ruesha Littlejohn comes into midfield in place of Megan Connolly, with Lucy Quinn getting the nod on the right over Emily Murphy.
Anna Patten wins her second cap having made her debut in last Friday’s 1-0 defeat to France, while Aoife Mannion retains her spot alongside Louise Quinn and Caitlin Hayes at the back.
Katie McCabe will likely play ahead of Mannion on the left as the Girls in Green look to pull off a major shock against the reigning European champions.
England boss Sarina Wiegman confirmed yesterday that Leah Williamson would be making her first international start in a year. The Arsenal defender suffered an ACL injury in April 2023 that ruled her out of the World Cup. She replaces Lotte Wubben-Moy in central defence.
Wiegman has also opted to go with Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton between the sticks, dropping Mary Earps to the bench.
England drew 1-1 with Sweden in their opening qualifier at Wembley.
