Watch: ‘Big name’ Everton squad travels to Ireland ahead of Sligo friendly – sport – Western People
English Premier League club Everton play their first pre-season encounter of the summer this week when they will travel to Sligo to take on John Russell’s at the Showgrounds.
Sean Dyche’s squad departed from Merseyside today and touched base at their training camp in Carton House where the squad will be based this week before they play the Bit O’Red this Friday, July 19, at 4pm.

will see Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman return to the club that catapulted him in earning a transfer to the Toffees in 2009 for a mere £60,000.Since that move, the defender has made over 350 top-flight appearances for the Blues and has been capped 72 times by his country.
Tickets for the highly anticipated encounter sold out almost straight away when they went on sale earlier this month.
Among the most notable players who have travelled to Ireland are Coleman, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Dele Alli, Jarrad Branthwaite, Ashley Young and Neal Maupay.

The game, which can be watched live on Everton’s website, will also strengthen the strategic partnership between the two clubs since its announcement in 2021.
