Finland v Republic of Ireland: Kick-off time, match details and how to watch Nations League clash
IRELAND prepare to continue their UEFA Nations League journey with an away trip to Finland with both sides still looking for their first points of the campaign.
In Ireland’s last game against Greece in Dublin, Hallgrimsson’s side came up short against their bogey side as the ‘Galanolefki’ (Blue and White in Greek) ran out 2-0 winners.
Ireland’s assistant coach John O’Shea has slated the criticism coming from the media regarding the quality of the Irish squad and has urged people to get behind the team.
After the team’s poor run of form of late, new manager Hallgrimsson knows that there are things to improve on.
“It’s really important because at some point we need to stop this bleeding,” said Hallgrimsson at the squad announcement last week
“Losing becomes a habit like winning does and we need to break that connection. It’s more likely we’ll get a good result with good performance.
“I think I know what we need to improve on the pitch. I’m going to focus on that rather than listen to what others think.”
