Ireland v England betting tips
England to Win 2-0
Harry Kane to Score
Evan Ferguson to have 1+ shots on target
WHEN: Saturday 7th September – 5pm

It will be interesting to see how Heimir Hallgrímsson and Lee Carsley get on. England should win, there’s no doubt about that whatsoever. The main thing in Ireland’s favour is the Lansdowne Roar, they do make a fantastic noise.
Hallgrímsson will have been watching DVDs since he got the job. He’ll make Ireland difficult to beat and everyone will have to fight for their places. The thing with Ireland is they just haven’t got enough good players.
Some of the better ones who will play on Saturday have hardly played any games this season. If you gave Ireland a point now he’d snap your hand off. Ireland have always been at their best when they’ve played the ball long, going back to Jack Charlton’s day.
If they can turn this into a cup tie then they might beat England but I don’t think they will be able to. Ireland v England will be a good atmosphere because it’s a Saturday evening, you can just walk to the Aviva from the town.
The thing with England and Lee Carsley is that he could actually have been the Ireland manager. In saying that, if he does well with England he’ll probably get that job.
Carsley could be the man going forward with England. He’s done well with the younger teams and the thing with England is that you have to both win games and be an ambassador.
It’s very, very important and Gareth Southgate was great at that. If they start well I think they’ll give him the job.
It seems they want to give it to him and he has to make sure he gets England’s top players onside. Other than winning games that’s probably the most important element.
If he can get them playing forward, a bit more exciting, and create lots of chances that will be the cherry on the cake. He’ll be the next-best thing since sliced bread with the fans and the media if he can get all that right.
Sammie Szmodics is a goal scorer but whether he’s going to score that many in the Premier League or with Ireland remains to be seen. The big problem is that the service isn’t great.
It will be interesting to see where he plays or if he starts. I think he has to play because if you look at the team there’s not a lot of goals there.
England have got so much quality. Even though half a dozen of them are missing it doesn’t really make a difference. I think England will win 2-0.
Harry Kane will be desperate to play and he’ll fancy it. He was disappointing in the Euros, he was never fit. Why play him? He’s still England’s main man and he just wants to score more and more goals.
If Evan Ferguson plays he’s probably Ireland’s best player but he’s hardly featured for Brighton. He’s in the squad and I think he might play so he’ll probably be Ireland’s main threat.
He can cause a lot of problems and he’ll want to make an impression on the new manager. It’s all about service, though, so the chances he gets might not be that good.
