New boutique charity store opens in Belfast aiming to convince public of ‘sustainable glamour’
A new boutique charity store has opened in Belfast today aiming to convince the public to give “pre-loved” items a chance.
The flagship Concern Worldwide store has opened on the Lisburn Road.
Shop Manager, Jane Hodgers spoke to the Belfast Telegraph about the importance of sustainable fashion, and gave us a look at some designer labels she has in stock.
Ms Hodgers said: “Sustainable glamour is the way forward.
“We have 10 years worth of fast fashion that will clothe the planet, and we’re still producing. We’re throwing it away into waste and landfill and we don’t need to. If you look around you, the merchandise here has all been pre-loved. It’s a cheap, sustainable way to buy clothes.
“We look after our stock, we launder it, and we understand that close should last.”
