NI shopping centre on the market for £2m – a drop of £800,000 from price a decade ago

High Street Mall in Portadown has gone on the market for asking price of £2m and over

A prominent shopping mall in Co Armagh has gone on the market for £2m, a fall of 30% on its price when up for sale a decade ago.

High Street Mall on High Street in Portadown has stores including supermarket Lidl and discount retailer B&M Bargains.

Selling agents Cushman and Wakefield and McCombe Pierce described its location as “highly prominent and accessible”.

It said the mall, which was built in 1996, had undergone significant redevelopment and remodelling.

It has 500 car parking spaces on site, while the mall itself earns total gross income of £252,000 per year.

Cushman and Wakefield said it’s seeking offers of £2m-plus for the site.

A decade ago, it was placed on the market for £2.8m by then-owners Irwin Glenbank. In 2015, it was bought by Hillsborough-based Brittas Properties

Oher stores on site include The Works, Peacocks, Gordons Chemist, Holland & Barrett, Greggs and Home Bargains.

Lidl opened its anchor store at High Street Mall in 2021.

High Street Mall is the latest shopping centre in the area to hit the market. Rushmere Shopping Centre in nearby Craigavon went on the market for £57m in 2022, after its former owners went into administration.

In February last year, it was acquired by Killahoey Ltd, a joint venture between Northern Ireland companies Sheephaven and May Street Capital.
