Rising Longford soccer star Michaela Hand selected for Republic of Ireland U-17s

Rising Longford soccer star Michaela Hand has been selected for the Republic of Ireland Women’s Under-17 squad who will start their 2024-25 season with an International Friendly against Northern Ireland in Belfast on Sunday August 18. 

Head Coach James Scott will be able to use the time with his squad to start preparations for their UEFA WU17 European Championship Round 1 Qualifiers coming up  in November.

Ireland were drawn into Group A6 alongside Austria, Denmark and Spain, so Scott will be keen to make the most of every session together with the players – starting with the game in Belfast 

The Girls in Green will also travel to Portugal for a double-header against the host nation in September.
