Sligo’s Charlie McGarvey called up to Republic of Ireland squad

Sligo’s Charlie McGarvey has received a call up to the Republic of Ireland’s Under 15 team for a three game UEFA Development Tournament in Zagreb, Croatia from September 16-24.
Ireland Boys Under-15s’ first international will see them take on Slovenia this Wednesday, followed by a game against the hosts Croatia on Friday before ending their tournament against Lithuania on Monday, September 23.
McGarvey is a third year student in Summerhill College, and is a goalkeeper for Sligo Rovers.
Summerhill College said: “Charlie’s selection to the Republic of Ireland team is the culmination of over two years of trials at the FAI National Academy, competing with the best 2010 players in the Country.
“This is an amazing achievement for Charlie and a testament to his skill, dedication and drive. We are extremely proud of Charlie and wish him and his teammates all the very best in the tournament.”
