‘Stop using it’ – Product sold at Irish toy shops recalled amid choking fears
A number of baby playmats sold at Irish toy shops and online are being recalled amid choking fears.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) reported the recall and warned parents to stop using the prducts.
The Taf Toys Savannah and Urban garden playmats pose a serious choking risk to kids, according to the CCPc.
They said: “The risk reported to the CCPC is that choking. The plastic film covering the foam may peel off in small pieces. A small child may put them in the mouth and choke.”
The brand is Taf Toys. The type/number of models are 12715 (Savannah) and 13085 (Urban garden). The batch numbers are IN0823, IN0623, IN0723 and IN1023. The bar codes are 605566127156 (Savannah) and 605566130859 (Urban garden)
There are approximately 85 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

The product was available in the following retailers: Amazon, Kellys Toymaster, Stakelum Toymaster, JoJo Maman Bébé, Mamas&Papas, Cogs the Brain Shop.
Customers in possession “should stop using the product immediately, keep it out of the reach of children and return it to the place of purchase for a refund,” the CCPC added.
“For customers who purchased their product via Amazon you may wish to contact Amazon to see if there are any remedies available to you. This can be done via your user account on Amazon.”
