talkSPORT betting tips – Best football bets and advice for Sunday 21 July

Despite this being a Sunday in July, there are plenty of games across Europe for football fans to enjoy.

The second round of the FAI Cup takes centre stage in the Republic of Ireland while there is a host of Scandinavian action, with the top divisions in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland already in full swing.

The Swiss Super League and Brazilian Serie A complete what is an intriguing Sunday of football.

Bet of the Day

Viking to beat Haugesund – 10/11

Viking are just five points adrift of top spot in the Norwegian Eliteserien and they can continue to advance their title claims with victory over Haugesund on Sunday.

Viking, who also have a game in hand on those around them, have won seven of their last nine games, scoring at least twice in each of their last six league outings.

They visit a Haugesund side who have lost three of their last five and are just a point above the bottom side Sandefjord.

Haugesund are the lowest scorers in the Eliteserien this season, netting just 12 times in 13 matches, and their struggles in front of goal could once again prove their downfall.

A more free-flowing Viking (26 goals in 14 league matches) have won three of the last four meetings between the pair by an aggregate 11-5 scoreline and they should be able to confirm their dominance over Haugesund on Sunday.

Longshot of the day

Under 1.5 goals in Stromsgodset v Tromso – 13/5

Seven of the last eight meetings between Stromsgodset and Tromso have featured no more than three goals while three of the last four have been decided by just a single goal.

Both teams have hardly been prolific this season. Stromsgodset have netted 16 times in 14 Eliterserien outings while Tromso have scored 17 times in 15 matches.

This could be another cagey affair and there is every chance that a single goal will decide matters.

Special of the day

Bragantino to win and both teams to score – 19/5

Bragantino and Athletico Paranaense are separated by just three points in the middle of the Brazilian Serie A last season, but Bragantino’s record on their own patch gives them a big advantage in their Sunday showdown.

The hosts have won five of their seven matches in their own backyard whereas Athletico have lost three of their last five matches and have recorded only two wins in their last eight.

Both teams have found the net in seven of Bragantino’s last eight matches, though, so the chances of a high-scoring encounter are encouraging.

Paranaense have failed to keep a clean sheet in four attempts against Bragantino and backing a home win and both teams to score looks a solid play.
