Tickets for Ireland v England Nations League clash on sale – but some seats are more expensive than Oasis concert

After again coming under fire from supporters for repeating their policy of selling the match packages, the cash-strapped FAI have been forced into another climbdown.

Single tickets options are now available on Ticketmaster as organisers seek to avoid the embarrassment of empty seats at one of their highest-profile fixtures.

While the Gallaghers will be welcomed back as long-lost sons, England’s football squad features two ex-Irish players, Declan Rice and Jack Grealish, who may not receive as rapturous a greeting.

However, the cheapest seat will cost €90 in Row M of Block 518 – and that will be in a corner seat on the upper tier.

To get closer to action, there are still some better options available but they won’t come cheap as Goalline and behind-goal Premium 2 seats, meanwhile, cost €120 each, while there are still some Premium 1 tickets available for €150 apiece.

England will be managed by former Ireland midfielder Lee Carsley and this week new Ireland managerial duo, Heimar Hallgrimsson and John O’Shea, expressed confidence that the Irish crowd would be able to create an atmosphere for the team.

“That will take care of itself,” said assistant head coach O’Shea, before confirmation that the game had not sold out.

“I think we’ll have full focus on keeping everyone having cool heads and hoping that mentality is right to get everyone to go out and produce a complete performance to get the manager’s campaign off to a fantastic start.”

Hallgrimsson has already led a side to defeat England, doing so in memorable fashion at Euro 2016 in the second round.

“I’m really looking forward to that,” he said when asked about the potential of a 50,000 crowd.

“Everybody has told me and everybody has said that it’s like we’re playing one game, we’re only playing England.

Everybody is saying we need to play good against England. I always say that there’s two games. We play Greece only three days later and that’s a game we should not forget and we need to focus on that.

“So once we’ve beaten England, we cannot celebrate for three days and lose against Greece!”
