Travel review: Cruising along the River Shannon floats our boat

Is there a limit to how many mid-life crises you can have? I’ve done the classic car (which I still have), owned a motorbike (which I was told to sell), took a helicopter lesson (I’m afraid of heights) and went on a weight-loss journey (losing a few stone, although most of that has made a comeback).

I feel another episode coming on, and that is thanks to a long weekend on board a six-berth cruiser on the River Shannon.
